Broadcaster Clone TeleĀ® Pickup

The Broadcaster only officially existed for a period of about 4 months, from October of 1950 to February of 1951, but it left an undeniable mark on music and the electric guitar itself. An upgrade from the original Esquire, with the addition of a neck pickup and a 'blend' potentiometer, there was nothing like it before or since. The first generation of ā€œBlackguardā€ Teles are very highly regarded in terms of playability and tone, and now you can make your guitar sound like a slice of history.

Alnico 3 for the bridge and Alnico 5 for the neck, with vintage-spec 43 gauge plain enamel wire, a deep drawn chrome brass cover for the neck pickup, and a zinc plated baseplate for the bridge pickup. RWRP when combined for hum-cancelling in the middle position.Ā

All original manufacturing methods are the same with handwound coils, and lightly wax potted coils. The neck pickup is clean and glassy with lots of power to balance right with the overwound bridge pickup. The bridge pickup is fat and clear when clean, and creamy when distorted. Stellar example of a true Broadcaster sound!Ā

All of our pickups are proudly built inĀ Burgaw, NC!
